With a fleet of 12 scallop boats and a team of 80 sailors, Armement Favrou is dedicated to scallop fishing that respects both regulations and the environment. Each year, we land nearly 1 600 tons of high-quality scallops.
A strictly Regulated Fishery
Governed by prefectural decrees that set fishing hours and authorized quotas, our operations strictly adhere to the minimum regulated size of 11 cm for each scallop.
Fishing Areas:
Our operations focus on the North-East Atlantic (NEA) Zone VII – Eastern Channel, renowned for its exceptional scallops.
Treatment of Scallops Onboard:
Once caught, the scallops are sorted and washed with seawater, then stored in bags or boxes in the hold to keep them alive until shucking.
Production Schedule:
- October 1 – December 15: Scallops without roe.
- December 15 – May 15: Scallops with roe.
- May 15 – October 1: Closed fishing period to ensure resource renewal.
